How To Solve Ntldr Missing In Windows Xp

So, I have an Acer Veriton 2800 that runs Windows XP Professional SP3. This PC is eleven years quondam since I bought it.

When the arrangement storage is running low, I decided to uninstall some unused programme. The HP Deskjet is the largest programme in the hard bulldoze. When the uninstall completed, its told to restart the PC. After restarting, it tells me that my NTLDR (known as a boot loader) is missing.

Does this hateful that the HP Deskjet software is in the organisation files?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Windows XP users

Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the estimator.
When prompted to printing any key to kick from the CD, press any key.
Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "one" key and pressing enter.
Yous will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
Copy the below 2 files to the root directory of the primary difficult bulldoze. In the below instance nosotros are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this instance is "e." This letter may be different on your computer.

copy east:\i386\ntldr c:\
re-create due east:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\
Once both of these files accept been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

In the beginning there was the command line.

I wonder what is the likelihood that after 11 years (most like my XP) that you (or anyone) tin can get your hands on a 18-carat bootable Windows XP SP3 installation CD?

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior instructor demonstrates.

Suggestions that begin with the discussion "try" are oft wild goose chases.  Try not.  Practice or practise non.  At that place is no try.

Does a proffer that says "it's worth a endeavor" and "let u.s.a. know how it goes" instill confidence?

Reinstalling Windows should non count as a "solution".

http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm

On the page is a link to a zip file with ntdetect.com, ntldr, and boot.ini. A bad boot.ini file tin also crusade a NTLDR missing fault.

The only way to fix this though is from the recovery console and the skilful one-time control line

In the get-go there was the command line C:\>

In the outset there was the command line.

There are more means to ready than the Recovery Console and there are many cases where even that will not aid.

If you are going to advise the RC why don't y'all include a method that describes how to launch the RC and then how to use information technology to fix the trouble?

...and if yous were to boot into the RC and find yourself looking at a prompt that only says C:\> (instead of C:\Windows) y'all are non going to get very far.

That is what you are likely to meet if the system has SATA drives which many do these days and the RC does not understand unless the RC is installed as a boot option.  So if the organisation has SATA drives, fifty-fifty booting into the RC is not going to aid - you will not exist able to navigate.

In those cases even a unproblematic 'dir' command will outcome in Entering "An error occurred during directory enumeration".

Try it on your own system and meet for yourself.

Even the link to http://tinyempire.com/ that ZIP file contains pre Service Pack iii files and then fifty-fifty that might not work (I'g non trying it to notice out).

Hopefully someone has recreated the problem on a SP3 system and really tried that to see if information technology works.

I doubt if that ways anything pregnant.

Vista is at present unsupported by Microsoft.

This MS Webpage leads to a expressionless-terminate...which, IMO, but emphasizes that Vista is no longer supported.

"Whatever" is a concept that is too comprehensive for me to respond to.  I believe that vendors would notice it difficult to market an unsupported O/S.

Worth A Glance...
